find the card ineffective. There are
many situations where in the business
cards are ineffective. The

relates usually to the holder of the

etiquette regarding business card – This
is the commonly found reason for
ineffectiveness of business cards.

whipping one’s business card out is not
all. The business cards are to be given
in a good taste. Also there should be a
reason. When there is a possibility of a
business contact you have to be friendly
with them and do not forget to ask about
them. This will be better instead of
just giving the card. First try to
explore the interests of each other. If
it is anything which is connected to the
field in which you work then realise
that this is a good time for introducing
yourself as a person who is interested
in doing business. Now give them the
card. This will help you in establishing
a relationship and the card will work as
a bridge.

is the basic thing but there are some
international etiquette also which is to
be considered while giving the card. You
can ask the other person for their cards
while you give them your card. This
gives them a feeling that you are very
much interested in having a contact them
and you are not trying to marketing
yourself. The guidelines regarding
giving the cards vary depending on the
country. Asking for the other person's
card is general. For instance in Japan
the card is considered as the honour of
the older. While giving the card the
giver is supposed to present the card
using both the hands bowing a little to
show respect. Casual giving of the card
is considered ill-mannered. So before
you go to a country try to learn about
such things as it will help you in
making contacts.
Another reason for failing of business
cards is the non-availability of
adequate information n the card. This
happens generally when the printing of
card is done in a hurry. This is to be
avoided and try to check whether the
print is of good quality. For instance
if the location of your company has been
changed and you have not updated the
information regarding this, people may
find it difficult to contact you. Also
try to design the card well. Avoid plain
cards as much as possible. The material
on which the card is printed is to be a
durable material. If cheap quality
papers are used for the printing purpose
then there is a possibility of the card
getting damaged. This may cause a
problem when you are giving the card as
you may not have noticed the small
