REGISTERING FOR VAT IN MERCHANT ACCOUNT
Value Added Tax (VAT) is imposed on all
the items that we purchase in our daily
lives. This is the revenue that the
government imposes on every individual.
The revenue and customs department
collects the VAT in most of the
countries. VAT is not compulsory for
small scale business but, however,
merchant account business may need the
registration to be done as the business
is run globally. If any business crosses
a certain limit set up by the government
by the sales turnover, then VAT is
levied on such matters.
Every day, every merchant account holder
or any business proceeds towards the
improvement of the business in any way.
In the process, the sale increases thus
making high profits. A team of
management experts is kept to maintain
the accounts of the business. A merchant
can also volunteer for registering for
VAT or can wait until the sales turnover
reaches the limits. It all depends upon
the business structure as to register
for VAT or not. In the UK, if any
business reaches the sales turnover to
60,000 pounds each year then, the
company has to register for Value Added
Tax. Some merchandise business can see
the future at the beginning, itself. If
they think they can carry out the
business turnover to 60,000 pounds or
more per year then those merchant
account holders can volunteer to
register for VAT before meeting the
threshold and also starting the
business.
VAT is collected from the final
purchasers or the final customers.
Finally the burden is shifted to the
customer as some tax is added to the
bill. The merchant account holder has to
register for Value Added Tax (VAT) as
the cost of maintaining the merchant
account is high. In other words, the tax
is transferred to the customer for
giving them service. However, businesses
run in this manner. Business is also
considered as give and take policy. Big
companies or big merchandise industries
invest huge sums of money during the
establishment of the business. If a
merchant account holder has registered
for VAT then it is beneficial for
him/her. It is beneficial because the
VAT paid on the establishment
investments can be claimed later.
The VAT registered merchandise business
can get a speeding place in the market.
Several companies do business in the
real market. It is easy for the VAT
registered company or the merchandise
business to have a good relation with
the other companies or industries
present market situation. A higher trust
is formed between the companies which
have been registered for Value Added Tax
(VAT) which indicates the level and size
of the business. Every individual is
levied a Value Added Tax on each item
they purchase. There are different tax
rates on different goods and products.
However, the government imposes a
reduced tax rate on the subsidised
products. The normal or the standard tax
rate is 17.5 % which is chargeable to
the entire customer on purchase of goods
or products. The reduced rate of VAT for
subsidised product is just 5 %. No tax
is imposed on postal stamps and other
stamps. |
