THE MORE YOU KNOW ABOUT CREDIT CARD
PROCESSING THE MORE YOU GROW
People think that more
experienced businessmen run their
businesses than the less experienced
ones. But, this is not always true. When
the business grows above a certain limit
then most people get so busy that they
don’t stop to review the ways in which
their company receives the funds or
money for which they worked so hard. One
place which constantly requires review
is the credit card processing and the
merchant account programs because these
technologies advance very quickly and
you don’t want to stay behind your
competitors, do you. One more reason to
constantly review this component is: it
affects the cash flow of your business.
The business owners spend
several thousand dollars each month for
different kinds of marketing campaigns
like magazine advertising, online
advertising and yellow pages, among
several others but leave out reviewing
of payment options for their juniors to
review.
Almost all merchants
spend huge amount of capital for
beautifying the business locations,
creating professional and positive image
and creating a comfortable business
environment for their customers. The
merchants are very careful about every
aspect expects for their credit card
processors and merchant accounts and the
fees related to them.
According to certain
reports, about 60% of the experienced
business owners did not know who their
credit card processor was, let alone how
much they are paying for it.
The business owners did
not find time to open their monthly
statement sent by their merchant account
provider to see what they are paying
for. But when it comes to invoices they
go through every line.
Such ignorant behaviour
will only cause your business to loose
money. At least you will loose the
opportunity to save money or increase
your profits. Many times merchants are
don’t want to know such information on
purpose. From now on make sure to see
the bill and always negotiate a better
price from your merchant account
provider for the merchant account and
the services that they are providing.
Your business will not be
able to survive the competition without
accepting credit card payments. Today
all types of businesses such as home
based business, business to business,
online merchant and retail merchant need
to accept credit card payments.
Nevertheless, just going
out in the market and buying your
merchant account from the first shop you
see will not do any good for your
business. You need to meticulously weigh
the benefits and the costs provided by
each type of merchant account in
relation to your business and then make
a choice.
Also, compare the
services and rates provided by different
merchant accounts and choose the most
economical one. Choosing the wrong
processor will not only not serve the
purpose but will also cost you some of
your profits. You may also be stuck with
the account for some time because the
terms and conditions in the contract
would require you to pay a hefty fee to
terminate the account prematurely.
Therefore, choose wisely. |
